And this was done within the existing budget; they didn’t expect “change orders” for addressing customer satisfaction issues. They were constantly asking me. “is there anything else you need”? Again, they were always trying to make me happy; their focus on customer service is unparalleled. After I took possession of my new home, their service orientation didn’t stop. Actually, I was even more observable. They stopped by regularly, ensuring those punch list items were addressed timely and satisfactorily, and always asking me the question “is there anything else you need”? I can tell you this: Paul and Tim never failed to deliver what they promised. This is refreshing in a world where integrity is hard to find. The men actually looked to find issues with my home which needed to be addressed. They actually pointed out punch list items I didn’t see. Instead of ignoring issues, and trying to avoid punch list issues, they actually searched for them. This shows their integrity, their honesty, and purpose: they want to serve their customers. I could list dozens of specific things in my home and the construction process that impressed me, from how they searched to find the specific carpet I liked, to exchanging my range for a different model after I moved in, but it would take forever to list them. I think the best thing I can say summary is this: BYK Construction Demonstrates a commitment to quality, customer service, and honesty. I would highly recommend them. I know we have challenged you in numerous ways to make our custom home a reality. In each case, you have worked with us to find the best solution. Your “can do” approach to each challenge is unsurpassed in your profession. This is the fourth home we have built. We have also extensively remodeled two other “new homes”. Some we designed from the beginning and others we modified existing plans. This project is an extensive modification of one of your existing plans. I’m not certain which is more difficult– new plans or revised plans. The professionalism exhibited by all of your subcontractors also far exceeds the norm. Each person on a crew has been cordial, polite, patient, accommodating and, when needed or desired, they have been creative. It should also be said they are very hard working. You and your customers get their money’s worth from each person’s effort. As their leader, you must also be commended for the guidance you provide. It is obvious they respect you. It may indicate our age, but working with dedicated, “clean cut”, competent younger people is another bonus, for us, and additional testimony to your leadership skills. Your availability is another aspect often overlooked by competitors in your field. As you discovered, I am a “hands-on” customer and rely heavily on being able to discuss anything at any time. You have never failed to respond!! And, your availability has been instrumental in avoiding problems and solving any that may arise. This can often avoid a redo. What more can a customer ask?? Building a new home can easily become stressful. You and your crews have, thankfully, avoided escalating stress beyond that which is self-imposed (not something you can control). For that, we are very grateful! Or marriage should last several more years.
